History

Bilytica was founded in 2015 in Helsinki, Finland by a partnership of industry leaders, Usman Ahmad, Dr Sari Al Qahtani, Nauman Ahmad, Muhammad Awais, Muhammad Moin and Ogul Yucel, each of whom had held senior positions in a different industry: banking, public-sector data, telecommunications, healthcare, industrial manufacturing and enterprise business intelligence.

The founding thesis was that enterprise analytics and, subsequently, artificial intelligence underdelivered in every sector for the same reason: the underlying data layer was not governed or reliable enough to support them. Bilytica was established to address that layer first.

In 2017 operations moved to Melbourne, Australia, where the firm delivered for regulated Australian organisations and built the distributed delivery model it still uses.

In 2019 Bilytica entered Saudi Arabia, opening in Riyadh. Gulf work became the centre of gravity of the company: national-scale data programmes, Arabic-language AI and in-country deployment aligned to NDMO and PDPL requirements.

In the years that followed Bilytica expanded into Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates and Spain, adding an engineering bench in Lahore and client-facing teams in Dubai and Madrid.

As of 2026, Bilytica serves more than 200 enterprise customers, employs more than 200 people, and its systems handle over 600 million AI-assisted interactions per year. The company remains led by its founding partners.
